MySQL Database Support Policy
This article specifies the Liferay support policy for the MySQL database application when used with Liferay Digital Experience Platform, Liferay Portal EE, or Liferay Commerce ("the product"). It addresses support coverage unique to MySQL and not already covered in the generic Database Application policy.
For more information please see the Database Application Policy.
Engine Types
Liferay supports the default MySQL engine, InnoDB. Other MySQL engines (like NDB) lack the essential functions used by the product and aren’t supported.
Read/Write Split
Liferay supports the connection to the database’s built-in replication mechanism. In the case of MySQL, a read/write split is possible.
Other third-party replication mechanisms (e.g., MySQL Galera) may be interoperable with the product, but haven’t been tested to verify their functionality. Connecting and configuring the product with such products isn’t supported. For more information, please see the Interoperable Technologies policy.
Please note that when using read/write splitting, the nodes should be configured to interact synchronously.
Forks of MySQL
Liferay supports the official release versions of MySQL listed in the Compatibility Matrix. Other forks aren’t supported at this time, unless specifically noted in the Compatibility Matrix.
