This document provides certain technical details, including quotas and limitations of certain resources provisioned with Liferay Subscriptions under Liferay's Composable Pricing Model across cloud-native, PaaS and SaaS deployment models. Cloud Native Pods - Sizing and Capacity

This section defines the scale and capacity of the customer's deployment, addressing Production Pods and Non-Production Environments.

Pod Quantities

Pod Definition: A "Pod" is the smallest deployable computing unit within a Kubernetes environment. It encapsulates a single, active running instance (node) of the Liferay application container.

Each Pod may utilize any number of vCPUs. Each Pod is limited to (1) copy of Liferay software.

Pod Quantity  & Scaling: Customers purchase an "Up to" quantity (e.g., "Up to 5" Production Pods) of Production Pods. Customers retain the flexibility to scale active running pods down and back up to the contracted maximum limit at any time. This “Up To” number is also the limit for UAT and DR environment clusters. Customers may use any number of Pods for non-production purposes.Liferay-Managed Infrastructure (PaaS & SaaS) Details

For customers utilizing Liferay-managed infrastructure, a baseline hardware tier (Standard or High Performance) must be selected. This choice dictates the physical sizing of the production pod and the default allowance for all six consumption-based resources.

Uniform Application Rule: The committed usage machine type applies uniformly to all six consumption metrics. Mixing and matching tiers (e.g., Standard for Client Extension RAM and High Performance for Database Storage) is not permitted. Additional usage for specific metrics may be purchased in advance. 

These baselines define the included allocation for usage-based measurements, which are reconciled quarterly.

Additional Consumption and Overage

If your use of the following metrics exceeds the amounts covered by existing orders, Liferay may bill you for overage in the units specified below. Overages will be invoiced on an individual metric basis. Customers who exceed the agreed upon allowance are not required to select a higher machine type for all metrics.
