Updated May 31, 2024: On Monday, July 1st Elasticsearch images below 7.17.13 or 8.9.2 will no longer be deployable
Summary
Liferay currently supports and provides Elasticsearch images for versions 6, 7, and 8 for the purposes of deployment on our cloud platform. Due to over 17 critical vulnerabilities identified in various Elasticsearch 6.8.x images on which liferaycloud/elasticsearch:6.8.x images are based, Liferay will be discontinuing support for Elasticsearch 6 on our cloud platform.
Details
What does this mean for you?
- No new Elasticsearch 6 images will be produced by Liferay
- Elasticsearch 6 images should no longer be used on Liferay’s cloud platform
- If a ticket is opened relating to an issue with Elasticsearch 6, Liferay Support will first ask you to update to version 7.17.13 or 8.9.2 before providing further assistance
Resolution
In order to avoid disruptions or downtime, all Liferay PaaS customers must update to Elasticsearch 7.17.13 or 8.9.2 and above. If the update is not complete by the date outlined below, environments still running Elasticsearch 6 may experience reduced functionality, deployment failures, or downtime.
