Note: please note that Liferay has renamed its Liferay Experience Could offerings to Liferay SaaS (formerly LXC) and Liferay PaaS (formerly LXC-SM).

Summary

Some Liferay PaaS subscriptions include Dynatrace Full Stack Monitoring for advanced monitoring capabilities.

As of April 15th 2024, Liferay’s Dynatrace offering will be hosted on Google Cloud Platform to better align with our cloud vendor strategy. The migration will eliminate the need for monitoring data to traverse multiple cloud providers resulting in expedited communication and improved reliability.

Current Dynatrace tenants will continue to be available until May 31st, 2024.

Your new Dynatrace tenant will become available for use by April 19th. Custom configurations will be migrated to the new tenant. However, historical data cannot be migrated.

Users registered under the current Dynatrace tenant will receive an email containing the new Tenant ID.

Resolution

  • Navigate to the new "Access Dynatrace Environment" link provided in the email from Dynatrace.
    Look for the sender: no-reply@dynatrace.com
  • Use your existing User Id and Password to log on to your Dynatrace environment.
  • Create a new access token and update the Liferay service’s secret environment variables following the instructions in Steps 2 - 4 provided in the documentation here.
    • Note: You do not need to create another Dynatrace account
  • A new build will be generated in the Cloud Console based on your configured build triggers.
  • Deploy the generated build.

If you have any questions, please feel free to submit a ticket and Liferay Support will be happy to assist you.

FAQ

  • When will I receive the new tenant id?
    • You will receive a link to the new tenant between April 15th and April 19th
  • What happens if we cannot update to the new tenant before the May 31st?
    • In the event that the Dynatrace tenant and access tokens are still pointing to the discontinued tenant after May 31st, data collection will fail and you may see errors in the Liferay logs.
  • What happens to the historical data?
    • Data collected within the current Dynatrace tenant will be lost after May 31st. Unfortunately, historical data cannot be migrated to the new tenant. We suggest taking snapshots of dashboards and metrics for archival.
  • What happens to our custom dashboards and metrics?
    • Custom configurations like custom dashboards and metrics will be available in the new tenant, and will start accumulating data when you connect the Liferay service to the new tenant.
