Note: please note that Liferay has renamed its Liferay Experience Could offerings to Liferay SaaS (formerly LXC) and Liferay PaaS (formerly LXC-SM).

Published: June 27, 2022

Summary

In order to keep your Cloud environment up-to-date and your running services authenticated and error free, Liferay Cloud has deployed an updated Elasticsearch license for all Liferay PaaS customers. With this change, we want to address any behavior you may see and steps to perform in order to leverage this update.

Details

You may have noticed the following error in your search service:

"License [will expire] on [Wednesday, June 29, 2022].\n# If you have a new license, please update it. Otherwise, please reach out to\n# your support contact

Please do not be alarmed, your search service will continue to run as expected.

Resolution

In order to leverage the new license, you will need to perform one of the following steps:

  • Restart your search service

OR

  • Redeploy your search service

Restarting or Redeploying will allow the search service to recognize and utilize the new license. You will continue to see the error mentioned above until you perform one of these steps.

Please note that, if you do not have a volume set up for your search service, you may need to reindex your search indices after performing a restart or redeploy. See our Missing Search Indices After Restart/Redeploy for more information.

Additional Information

As always, if you encounter any issues or have questions about these changes, please submit a ticket and Liferay Support will be happy to assist.
