Marketplace connection times does not work on Safari or Chrome

Description

Receiving following in the Javascript logs:

GET http://now.eloqua.com/visitor/v200/svrGP.aspx?pps=3&siteid=2554&ref2=http%3A//mp.liferay.com/c/portal/logout&tzo=-60&ms=16 elqImg.js:10
(anonymous function) elqImg.js:10
Port error: Could not establish connection. Receiving end does not exist. miscellaneous_bindings:232
chromeHidden.Port.dispatchOnDisconnect

Seems that it is eloqua.com's script that fails on Safari and Chrome, however, it seems to work on Firefox and IE8.

Title should of course be "Marketplace connection does not work on Safari or Chrome", or "times out", whatever you prefer

Hello Daniel,

I tried reproducing the error from both the 6.1.1 CE GA2 provided from Sourceforge and the latest git pull from https://github.com/liferay/liferay-plugins/tree/6.1.x. However I was unable to reproduce the error as described from the the ticket description. Attached is a screenshot of my successful GET for the Eloqua scripts (both elqImg.js and elqCfg.js).

Is there any additional information (such as more details in your environment) that you can provide? Any additional information will be helpful in trying to reproduce the issue that you are experiencing.

Sure, Liferay is running on Java 1.6.0_33 on CentOS 6.3 and the browsers were Chrome 21 and Safari 6 respectively on OSX 10.8. I noticed that this error occasionally happens on Firefox 14 also, but not quite as frequently.

We're unable to reproduce this issue. If you still see this behavior, please reopen the ticket and list the steps taken so that we can resolve the issue.

Hi Peter, sorry for the late answer. I think I found out what the problem is. When the browser is configured to not allow cookies from a third-party then the Marketplace connection fails and when enabling third party cookies it works.
