LPS-28987Resource importer does not work properly with tomcat 7.0.28+ LPS-28741 The welcome theme does not cleanly undeploy LPS-28960Welcome Theme Web Content isn't viewable to new user LPS-29023Cannot deploy welcome-theme LPS-31923Resource importer is using the Journal Structure and Templates API instead of DDM
Description
Use Liferay CE source trunk and plugins trunk. Deploy resource importer and the welcome theme.
Steps to reproduce bug:
1. From a new install of Liferay, go to the Control Panel.
2. Click on "Sites" from the side menu, and, from the "Sites" page, click the "Add" button and select "Welcome Theme".
3. From a page which requires that you give the site a name, named it anything (I named it "Hopeful"), after which you should be told that your "request completed successfully". There should be no errors in the console.
4. From here use the "Goto" menu at the top to take yourself to my new site (I named mine "Hopeful"). At this point, the console may throw a ton of errors starting with "SEVERE: Servlet.service() for servlet jsp threw exception java.sql.SQLException: incompatible data types in combination".
You will probably see a blatantly ugly-looking Welcome theme where the navigation has seven items (contrary to the 3 in sitemap.json), and none of the web content portlets are displaying correctly (contrary to the ones outlined in sitemap.json).

Brad can not configure a nested portlet. Please see the attachment.
When I used layouts in the portlet configuration in the sitemap.json file it didn't work.
Nested Portlet > Layout > Web Content, Web Content, Web Form Portlet > Web Form fields
Brad,
can you give clear steps on how to reproduce the problem with the nested portlet?
Hugo, I just spoke with Brad about the steps to reproduce the problem. He says that currently the resource importer portlet will not deploy from CE plugins to CE 6.1 Portal. He also says that when he tried to deploy to trunk approx. two days ago, it failed to deploy as well.
Hey Brad,
It looks like resource importer portlet deploys fine in trunk...
Wondering if you need to update your build.username.properties file because we upgraded to tomcat-7.0.27
Hey Hugo,
Does it deploy fine in the latest CE as well? Or is it supposed to?
I don't have CE 6.1 checkout out... need to set that up in order to test...
Thanks Hugo. It's hard to tell if something is working one minute, broken the next, working the next, etc. on the ever-changing trunk. Brad, are you getting pinged on these tickets?
Deploys fine for latest CE 6.1 as well.
Same thing, CE 6.1 also was upgraded to tomcat-7.0.27.
If you compiled running against the wrong bundle, that might be the cause of it not working, so check your build.username.properties in your plugins folder
run "ant all".
It will stop halfway and tell you what to do to install the new tomcat
run "ant -f build-dist.xml unzip-tomcat" from source to update tomcat.
Yes I have the newer tomcat, it deployed. but it didn't deploy the modern indigo theme data, which is one of the simplest marketplace theme.
https://github.com/randombrad/liferay-plugins-ee/tree/LPS-17088 its still in development
Hey Brad,
Sorting out a few bugs with the resource importer, but also found that your sitemap.json is not correct.
You're missing a bunch of double quotes at the beginning of the lines with the friendlyURLs.
Will keep you posted...
Hey Brad,
I haven't had time today to look into this more.
This is where I am at now. I made some changes, so the validation of the web content is fine now, but it can't find the layoutTemplateId: columns-1-3-1 and it therefore throws and error.
Is that a layout template that you created first?
The articles need to be able to use structures and templates. Those xml files are strait from Liferay web content

Ryan Park just came to me and asked about this ticket. He asked when it was due, and I quoted Cynthia's comment above of "May 25". Ryan said to assign this ticket to him, and he remarked "I'll definitely have it fixed by then."
