Description

The nested portlet does not accept that drag other portlets within it while creating the page template, this functionally is very interessing if you have many pages with a same portlets.

Hi Wellington:
I don't think this is a new feature requirement, but a bug.
The expected behaviour for the page templates is that the portlets can be configured as if they were in a normal page.

I could reproduce it on affected version 6.0.5GA and 60x-77100 and trunk-77100.

Hi Wellington,

I was able to reproduce this on:
Tomcat 6.0.32 + MySQL 5. Firefox 3.6.17. 6.0.x Revision 80956.
Tomcat 6.0.32 + MySQL 5. Firefox 3.6.17. 6.1.x Revision 80940.

Reproduced with following steps:
1. Navigate to Control Panel, Select 'Page Templates'
2. Add new template, add title 'New Template', add content in description
3. Save
4. Select 'New Template'
5. Under Configuration click "Open Page Template"
6. Add 'Nested Portlet'
7. Add 'Blogs' and 'Wiki' portlets
8. Try to drag 'Blogs' portlet into 'Nested Portlet' window
-User won't be able to nest portlets

I am using 6.0.6 and have this same problem. I really take exception that this is classified as minor. If you have a lot of pages that need to be created then a page template is important. Having the ability to nest portlets is a strong plus for liferay vs using one of the more popular cms tools like joomla, drupl or wordpress. Any of those tools have the ability to create a page and convert it to a page template. That is why nested portlets could be a strength for liferay if it worked.

I strongly urge you to reconsider the classification of this bug.

I also tried this on 6.1.b4 and the same problem exists. This is a bug that needs fixing.

Please validate for 6.1.x and 6.2.x. Close as 'No Longer Reproducible' if unable to reproduce.

Tomcat 7.0 + MySQL 5. 6.1.x EE GIT ID: cacec58f5457ea305ff3a6b1ee3a92a7e392b0c1.

I believe this is the portlet_content_wrapper.jspf not allowing the content from the portlet itself (i.e. the nested portlets portlet) when it's in Prototype 'mode'.

liferay-portal-6.1.0-ce-ga1 is the best version number I can give.

Will have to override in a hook for now.
